Internship Scheme at Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board




Internship Scheme for 2013-14 in Town Planning, Architecture, Social Development, Finance, Information Technology, Geographical Information System.
  1. Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), an autonomous organisation under Government of NCT of Delhi, is nodal agency for preparing ‘Slum Free City Plan of Action’ for Delhi under Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) of Govt of India. RAY envisages rehabilitation of all the slum dwellers and preventing formation of slums in future. The Board has rehabilitated about 400,000 slum households. It also operates 225 night shelters for homeless people.
  2. The Board has short term and long term internship opportunities for young men and women, who are inclined to work for the people at the bottom of the pyramid.
  3. Interested students / persons undergoing graduate / post-graduate / doctoral courses in various disciplines associated with town planning, social development, GIS, finance and management are required to fill up application on our web site www.delhishelter.nic.inbetween 27 Jan 2014 to 10 Feb 2014.
  4. The internship is for a period of six months to 1 year, with initial period of 3 months extendable by 3 months on satisfactory performance. The internship is neither a job nor any assurance thereof.

  5. The guidelines/ salient features of the Internship Scheme are :
    1. Eligibility: As above.
    2. Proficiency in use of computers: All interns must be able to use computers for writing documents, calculations and making presentations apart from experience of using software packages as mentioned above/related to their profession.
    3. Work: The interns will be required to satisfactorily complete all tasks assigned to them. The internship involves field work with in Delhi.
    4. Duration: Internship will be offered initially for 3 months and on satisfactory progress, will be extended for next 3 months for a total maximum duration of one year.
    5. Remuneration: Remuneration of Rs. 7000/- per month per intern, payable on satisfactory performance every quarter, which will be increased to Rs. 10,000/ per month after completion of six months of internship.
    6. Declaration of Secrecy and Intellectual Property: Selected interns are required to furnish to the Department a declaration of secrecy and Intellectual Property before reporting for the internship stating that no data or information will be transmitted outside department and that rights of all Intellectual Property generated by them during internship shall wrest with the department.
    7. Logistics Support: Interns will be provided with the necessary logistics support i.e. office space and computer with internet facility.
    8. Placement: The interns would be attached with the Project Director (Rajiv Awas Yojana).
    9. Submission: The interns will be required to present a Report on work done by them at the end of the internship.
    10. Certificate of Internship: Certificates will be issued to the interns on satisfactory completion of their internships and on submission of their Report and its evaluation by the Project Director (RAY).
    11. How to apply: Interested candidates are required to enter their details at our website: www.delhishelter.nic.in between 27 Jan 2014 to 10 Feb 2014.
    12. Selection: The applications will be scrutinized by a Selection Committee and shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. For each discipline, 1 or more candidates may be offered internship.

Project Oriented Chemical Education at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research





Project Oriented Chemical Education (POCE)



As part of its Science Outreach Programme, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research has initiated a new programme, Project Oriented Chemical Education (POCE), for students studying in B. Sc first year (PCM) to explore their potentials, to stimulate genuine interest in science and infuse creativity and scientific temper amongst undergraduate students. Selected students will be given an opportunity to involve in programmes such as lectures, laboratory projects and research.  The programme will be conducted during summer vacation for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Students selected are expected to work at the Centre for three consecutive summers and successful candidates will receive Diploma in Chemistry from the Centre. Whenever possible, students will be allowed to work in the Centre during mid-semester vacations as well.  Specialization in advanced materials will be possible during the last year.  Those who complete the POCE programme with outstanding performance will be eligible for admission to the MS-PhD programme in the Centre subject to a satisfactory performance in the interview.

ELIGIBILITY:
Students presently studying in 1st year  of three year B.Sc programme only  (preferably with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, (PCM)  combination).

FELLOWSHIP:

The total number of Fellowships offered will be upto 10.  A scholarship of Rs. 6000/- per month will be provided.

Announcement of selected candidates:

Only selected candidates will be intimated by first week of April – 2014 and the list will also be available on the JNCASR web site.  Further enquiries or correspondence will not be entertained.
The candidates have to indicate their acceptance within two weeks or else it will be presumed that they are not interested in joining the programme.

IBM Research - India will also cover expenses related to travel to the work location and provide logistical support for accommodation. This 6 months internship will cover various assignments and projects related to characterization and analysis of proteins and nucleic acids. Summer Internship 2014 at IIT Bombay





IITB undertake a significant amount of software and hardware development work in our Affordable Solutions Lab, to support their efforts in the National Mission on Education through ICT. In May-June2013, one hundred and fifty six interns worked on these projects.These programs develop useful software for our initiatives while simultaneously enabling them to fulfil the summer internship requirements of their respective academic programs. As usual, we are offering a fresh set of projects for Summer - 2014.

Students graduating in Computer Science/Engineering, IT, or Electronics.Who will be completing 3rd year in April/May 2014.

Project Trainee Scheme at institute of development and research in banking technology




 IDRBT Project Trainee Scheme (IPTS) (Summer Internship)
The Institute offers internship opportunities for students pursuing their graduation and post graduation in highly reputed Institutions to carry out various projects in the area of Banking Technology during their summer and winter breaks under the aegis of the "IDRBT Project Trainee Scheme". The specifics of the scheme, which is aimed at providing exposure to emerging young talent in the niche area of Banking Technology, is as under:

The Institute may offer Project Traineeships to students pursuing their graduation (after completion of a minimum of two years of studies) and post graduation in the areas of Computer Science and Information Technology in highly reputed Institutions such as IITs, IIMs, IIITs, Central Universities, ISB, BITS and similar Institutions.

These Project Traineeships are meant for carrying out a Project in the area of Banking Technology only. The minimum duration of the Project has to be two months.

Students from the above Institutions may apply to the Institute for Project Traineeship. Based on their credentials, the Institute may consider offering them projects.

Such candidates may send their detailed CV along with a letter of recommendation from their respective Institution and apply to IDRBT.

The Institute will scrutinize the applications received and the candidates selected shall be informed by the Institute.

The deliverables from the project are decided at the time of offering the Project Traineeship itself.

The Institute pays a stipend of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand only) per month to the selected Project Trainees. In addition, the Institute provides the following facilities to the Project trainees:
Free Shared Accommodation Facility at the Institute's Quarters at Begumpet.
Free Lunch and Dinner Facility in the Institute's Canteen.
Library Facility during the working hours of the Institute.
There shall be continuous monitoring of the Project by the Faculty / Project Guide and the Institute would evaluate the progress/benefits, etc of Project.
On completion of the Project, the Trainee shall make a presentation on the Project.
The Project Trainee shall also submit a report / working prototype / model to the Institute's Library.
These projects would be evaluated by the Institute, and the three Best Projects would get a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-, Rs 8,000/- and Rs 6,000/- respectively.
IDRBT shall be free to use all the research and academic output as may be appropriately decided by the Institute.
